Alex Bishop was cold coming off the bench, but Bishop warmed up quickly as Bishop stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Alberta (1-2) to a 14-0 win over the Quebec (0-3) on Sunday at Julien Morin.
With the Alberta leading by two, Bishop came to the plate and singled, bringing home Michael Belliveau.
Eleven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Alberta to easily put away the Quebec. An RBI single by Belliveau, an RBI single by Nolan Bumstead, an error, and a single in the first inning and an RBI single by Belliveau during the second inning fueled the Alberta's offense early.
Matthew Lloyd reached base four times in the game for the Alberta. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He doubled in the fourth inning.
The Quebec couldn't get anything going as long as Tanner Kirwir was pitching. Kirwir held the Quebec hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Oscar Rodriguez couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Quebec, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
