Chris Thomas had two extra base hits as the New Brunswick (2-0) took home a 6-1 victory over the Newfoundland and Labrador (1-1) in seven innings at Amede Roy on Sunday.

Sam Lund struck out eight hitters en route to the the New Brunswick win. Lund allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks over seven innings.

Tyler Hennessey was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

The New Brunswick were sparked by Thomas and Bailey Huber, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
