Aaron Gates racked up three RBIs on two hits for the RGV Whitewings. He doubled in the first inning.
The Alexandria Aces' lineup had no answer for Brett Kennedy. The Alexandria Aces managed just one hit off of the the RGV Whitewings' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out seven during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Alexandria Aces' Jon Jones dominated the RGV Whitewings' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Paul Montalbano improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the RGV Whitewings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Alex Schmarzo couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Alexandria Aces, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
