The White Sands Pupfish (17-17) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Santa Fe Fuego (12-19), recording a 14-3 victory on Sunday at Aquarium.
The game was decided quickly as the White Sands Pupfish exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.
A double by Jerry Gonzalez, a double by Christian Ramirez, and during the first inning and an RBI single by Gonzalez, an RBI single by Ramirez, and a groundout by Cody Collins in the second inning supplied the early offense for the White Sands Pupfish.Ramirez racked up six RBIs on four hits for the White Sands Pupfish.
Charlie McCready (0-1) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
