A walk-off single from Derrick Fox brought home the winning run for the Alpine Cowboys (41-26) in an 8-7 victory over the Taos Blizzard in 11 innings at Kokernot Field on Sunday.
Fox paced the Alpine Cowboys at the plate. Fox went 4-6, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the tenth inning and singled in the first, second, and eleventh innings.
Joel Carranza had three extra-base hits for the Alpine Cowboys. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third and fourth innings.
Carlos Camacho recorded his second win of the year for the Alpine Cowboys. Camacho struck out two, walked four and gave up one hit.
Tim Green (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed one run.
Billy Crowe, Carranza, Conor Thompson and Fox helped lead the Alpine Cowboys. They combined for 12 hits and five RBIs.
