Brandt helps the Xenia Scouts down the Cincinnati Steam 6-2

Clayton Brandt had two extra base hits, helping the Xenia Scouts (16-20) to a 6-2 victory over the Cincinnati Steam (21-15) on Tuesday at Western Hills HS.

He homered in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Dalton Thompson's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Xenia Scouts past the Cincinnati Steam. Thompson allowed two earned runs, eight hits and no walks over eight innings.

Will Nolden was hot from the plate for the Cincinnati Steam. Nolden went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Scott Klever couldn't get it done on the mound for the Cincinnati Steam, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

The Xenia Scouts were sparked by Brandt and Lincoln Reed, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
