The Lake Erie Monarchs (8-16) beat the Lexington Hustlers (12-16) 4-2 on Saturday at Ned Skeldon Stadium behind Matt Rodgers, who collected three hits.

Heath Slatton had an impressive outing against the Lexington Hustlers' lineup. Slatton held the Lexington Hustlers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

David Simmons went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Lexington Hustlers. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.

The Lake Erie Monarchs couldn't get anything going as long as Austin Clay was on the mound. Clay gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Jonathan Pusateri improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He allowed one run over four innings. Pusateri struck out two, walked one and gave up five hits.

Clay (2-2) took the loss for the Lexington Hustlers.
