Brett Murray went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Lake Erie Monarchs (7-16) to a 2-1 victory over the Lexington Hustlers (12-15) on Saturday at Ned Skeldon Stadium.
He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.Michael Hearne brought the heat against the Lexington Hustlers during his outing. Hearne held the Lexington Hustlers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Connor Hale got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over four innings. Hale struck out two, walked one and gave up four hits.
Evan McNair ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
