Matt Jefferson kept the Hamilton Joes (14-23) off the board during his six innings of work and the Cincinnati Steam (23-15) beat the Hamilton Joes, 3-1.

Jefferson struck out five and allowed three walks and two hits.

Phillip Diehl improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Cincinnati Steam. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered no hits.

Eric Nerl was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
