Matt Smith had two extra base hits, sparking the Licking County Settlers (15-8) to a 2-1 victory over the Xenia Scouts (9-16) on Sunday at Grady Field.

Charles Cooper brought the heat against the Xenia Scouts during his outing. The Xenia Scouts managed just two hits off of Cooper, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his seven innings of work.

Alan Norman held the Licking County Settlers scoreless for six innings. Norman struck out three and allowed three walks and two hits.

Eric Wilson got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Wilson struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Daniel Przeniczny couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Xenia Scouts, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
