The Xenia Scouts (9-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-1 to the So. Ohio Copperheads (16-6) on Thursday.
While the Xenia Scouts led until the fourth inning, the So. Ohio Copperheads worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Dalton Busby.
Mike Accardi reached base four times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.
Jackson Sowell improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He allowed one run over five innings. Sowell struck out two, walked four and gave up three hits.
Adam Collier ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
