The Terre Haute Rex (12-6) rolled over the Springfield Sliders (4-16) 8-2 on Wednesday at Robin Roberts Field after a five-run rally in the sixth inning.
Tyler Wampler racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Terre Haute Rex. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
The Springfield Sliders had no answer for Michael Marsinek, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Marsinek held the Springfield Sliders hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
John Patterson got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered six hits.
Derek Schneider was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
