The Danville Dans (10-8) put in a full day's work in a 10-inning, 8-7 win over the Springfield Sliders (4-16) Sunday at Danville Stadium.

With the Danville Dans trailing by two, Trey McNickle came to the plate and singled, plating Cole Judy.

Chet Simoneaux racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Danville Dans. He singled in the second and fourth innings and homered in the sixth inning.

The Springfield Sliders had no answer for McNickle, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. McNickle gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Matt Rhodes was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Danville Dans batters and allowing two runs.

TR Dunne couldn't get it done on the hill for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
