The Cincinnati Steam get key pinch-hit in 6-4 victory over the So. Ohio Copperheads

Matt Williams was cold coming off the bench, but Williams warmed up quickly as Williams stroked a key pinch-hit triple in the eight to lead the Cincinnati Steam (8-6) to a 6-4 win over the So. Ohio Copperheads (12-2) on Friday at Western Hills HS.

With the Cincinnati Steam trailing by two in the eighth inning, Williams came to the plate and tripled.

Cody Kuzniczci was hot from the plate for the Cincinnati Steam. Kuzniczci went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Scott Klever pitched lights out for the Cincinnati Steam. The So. Ohio Copperheads managed just two hits off of Klever, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Despite the loss, the So. Ohio Copperheads' Jordan Peterson dominated the Cincinnati Steam's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Adam Hall recorded his first win of the year for the Cincinnati Steam. Hall struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Logan Sparkman (0-1) took the loss for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
