The Grand Lake Mariners outdone by Bien and the Cincinnati Steam, 7-4

Story by Narrative Science.

Brian Bien went 2-2, sparking the Cincinnati Steam (7-5) to a 7-4 victory over the Grand Lake Mariners (4-7) on Wednesday at Montgomery Field.

He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

The Grand Lake Mariners couldn't get anything going as long as Phillip Diehl was on the mound. Diehl held the Grand Lake Mariners hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.

Cory Klinger ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
