The Licking County Settlers (6-4) and the Lake Erie Monarchs (3-8) each put runners in scoring position on Tuesday, but the Licking County Settlers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-6 win at Don Edwards Field.

Vinny Rodriguez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Licking County Settlers. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Matt Rodgers led the Lake Erie Monarchs' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Even though John Clark allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered 10 hits.

Heath Slatton (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.
