Adam Collier hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Collier pitched eight shutout innings to carry the Xenia Scouts (2-6) to a 1-0 victory over the Licking County Settlers (4-3) at Grady Field in 14 innings.
A walk-off double by Clayton Brandt gave the Xenia Scouts the win.
Brandt was hot from the plate for the Xenia Scouts. Brandt went 2-7 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the fourteenth inning.
Alan Norman recorded his first win of the year for the Xenia Scouts. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Nick Land (1-1) took the loss for the Licking County Settlers. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
