Wells allows no runs to lead the Dayton Docs past the Lexington Hustlers 5-3

Ryan Wells kept the Lexington Hustlers (1-4) off the board during his six innings of work and the Dayton Docs (3-1) beat the Lexington Hustlers, 5-3.

Wells allowed four hits, one walk and struck out six.

The Dayton Docs held off the Lexington Hustlers, as the Lexington Hustlers were unable to overcome a five-run sixth inning deficit.

The Lexington Hustlers scored on a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly by Matthew Kaskow in the eighth inning and an RBI single by Scott Johnson in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Lexington Hustlers couldn't get over the hump.

Deion Tansel did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Dayton Docs, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Logan Shaftner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
