Mike Accardi brought home the go-ahead run to give the So. Ohio Copperheads (4-0) the lead in the seventh inning, as the So. Ohio Copperheads hung on to beat the Lake Erie Monarchs (0-4) 6-5 on Sunday.

After Eddie Sutton hit into a fielder's choice, Accardi came to the plate with the score tied at three in the seventh inning, and singled, scoring Sutton.

The So. Ohio Copperheads held off the Lake Erie Monarchs, as the Lake Erie Monarchs were unable to overcome a three-run seventh inning deficit.

The Lake Erie Monarchs scored two runs in the eighth on two singles. Still, the Lake Erie Monarchs couldn't catch the So. Ohio Copperheads.

The Lake Erie Monarchs couldn't get anything going so long as Anthony Misiewicz was on the hill. Misiewicz held the Lake Erie Monarchs hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Brandon Bonar recorded his first win of the year for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Nick Bradley was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
