Matt Smith went 2-3, helping the Licking County Settlers (2-2) to a 1-0 victory over the Lexington Hustlers (1-3) on Saturday at Denison University.
He singled in the fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.The Lexington Hustlers couldn't get anything going so long as Michael Danielak was on the hill. The Lexington Hustlers managed just two hits off of Danielak, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his four innings of work.
The Licking County Settlers' lineup had no answer for Connor Foltyn. The Licking County Settlers managed just three hits off of the the Lexington Hustlers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Foltyn was charged with his first loss of the year.
