The Cincinnati Steam (24-16) beat the Lexington Hustlers (14-24) 9-5 on Friday at Western Hills HS behind Robby Sunderman, who drove in three runs.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.Michael Hanzlik looked sharp on the mound. Hanzlik held the Lexington Hustlers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Matt Ramsay was hot from the plate for the Lexington Hustlers. Ramsay went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.
C.J. Gant improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Cincinnati Steam. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Gant struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.
Jakson Deyer (2-2) took the loss for the Lexington Hustlers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
