Both the Lake Norman Copperheads (13-9) and the Morganton Aggies (9-8) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Lake Norman Copperheads that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at Hopewell HS.

Brett Huffman was solid at the plate for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Huffman went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Joe Pistacchio picked up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Pistacchio allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings of work.

TJ Fussell was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Lake Norman Copperheads batters and allowing three runs.

Fussell (2-1) took the loss for the Morganton Aggies.
