The Ballantyne Smokies (11-6) and the Morganton Aggies (8-5) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Ballantyne Smokies capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at Shuey Field.

Tyler Chadwick racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Ballantyne Smokies. He homered in the fifth inning.

Despite the loss, the Morganton Aggies' TJ Fussell dominated the Ballantyne Smokies' batters, giving up one run and striking out nine.

Stephen Vaughan improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Ballantyne Smokies. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Evan Tucker was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
