A magnificent effort by Aaron Spano led the Lake Norman Copperheads (8-4) to a 6-0 win in seven innings over the Statesville Owls (2-7) on Friday at Hopewell HS.

Spano had an impressive outing against the Statesville Owls' lineup. Spano gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his seven innings of work.

The biggest inning for the Lake Norman Copperheads was the second. The Lake Norman Copperheads' bats caught fire leading to four runs.

Clint Howell (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
