The Pineville Pioneers (5-3) put in a full day's work in a 10-inning, 4-3 win over the Lake Norman Copperheads (5-4) Sunday at Hopewell HS.

The Lake Norman Copperheads' lineup had no answer for Trevor Hutto. Hutto held the Lake Norman Copperheads hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Brandon Donahue improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Pineville Pioneers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Danny Schneider couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Lake Norman Copperheads, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
