The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (18-21) and the Orleans Firebirds (21-19) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-3 win at Eldredge Park.

Auston Bousfield did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, reaching base three times. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Vince Conde reached base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Clayton Smith got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed three runs over six innings. Smith struck out two, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Jared Miller couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Orleans Firebirds, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
