Jake Stinnett threw seven scoreless innings to lift the Brewster Whitecaps (13-22) to a 2-0 win over the Falmouth Commodores (19-15) at Arnie Allen Diamond.
Boo Vazquez had a hot bat for the Brewster Whitecaps. Vazquez went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Despite the loss, the Falmouth Commodores' John Means dominated the Brewster Whitecaps' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Means ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year.
