A walk-off double from Jordan Luplow brought home the winning run for the Orleans Firebirds (21-19) in a 6-5 victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (23-16) at Eldredge Park on Tuesday.
Luplow racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
The Orleans Firebirds were led by Collin Slaybaugh's hitting. Slaybaugh went 4-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings.
Trent Szkutnik handled the Hyannis Harbor Hawks' lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Szkutnik allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over five innings.
Brian Clark recorded his first win of the year for the Orleans Firebirds. He allowed three runs over three innings. Clark struck out one, walked none and gave up six hits.
Eric Eck was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
