Blake Butera was cold coming off the bench, but Butera warmed up quickly as Butera stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Chatham Anglers (13-6) to a 10-6 win over the Harwich Mariners (11-9) on Saturday at Whitehouse Field.
With the score tied at one, Butera came to the plate and singled, scoring J.D. Davis.
Dante Flores racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Chatham Anglers. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Logan Jernigan was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Chatham Anglers batters and allowing two runs.
Matthew Gage got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Keaton Haack (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
