The Orleans Firebirds (9-7) beat the Chatham Anglers (10-6) 3-0 on Wednesday at Eldredge Park behind Ross Kivett, who went 2-2 and hit a home run.
He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.The Chatham Anglers' lineup had no answer for Trent Szkutnik. The Chatham Anglers managed just one hit off of Szkutnik, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Chatham Anglers' Aaron Garza dominated the Orleans Firebirds' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.
Garza (0-1) took the loss for the Chatham Anglers.
