The Harwich Mariners top the Brewster Whitecaps behind Happ's 4 hits, 10-3

A superb effort by Ian Happ hoisted the Harwich Mariners (14-13) to a 10-3 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (10-16) on Wednesday at Whitehouse Field.

Happ hit two home runs for the Harwich Mariners. Happ went 4-5 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Happ homered in the first and third innings.

The Harwich Mariners blew out the Brewster Whitecaps thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Harwich Mariners scored three runs in the fifth on an RBI home run by Ben Moore and a two-run home run by Moore.

Dillon Peters pitched lights out for the Harwich Mariners. Peters held the Brewster Whitecaps hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Scott Heineman was hot from the plate for the Brewster Whitecaps. Heineman went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Jalen Beeks improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Harwich Mariners. He allowed three runs over five innings. Beeks struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Matt Withrow (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
