A walk-off single from Blake Butera brought home the winning run for the Chatham Anglers (2-0) in a 5-4 victory over the Cotuit Kettleers at Veterans Field on Friday.
Joshua Eldridge paced the Chatham Anglers at the plate. Eldridge went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third and ninth innings.
Yale Rosen had a hot bat for the Cotuit Kettleers (1-1). Rosen went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.
Chad Sobotka recorded his first win of the year for the Chatham Anglers. He allowed two runs over one inning. Sobotka struck out two, walked two and gave up no hits.
Chris Murphy was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
