Tuesday was a great day for Edgar Corcino, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Rockford Aviators (22-40) to an 11-4 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (34-29) at Aviator Stadium in six innings.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Rockford Aviators to easily put away the Southern Illinois Miners. An RBI single by Kenny Bryant, an RBI single by Michael Hur, an RBI single by Hur, a sacrifice fly by Gabe DeMarco, and an error in the first inning and an RBI single by Bryant during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Rockford Aviators.

Carlos Mendez went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Nick Anderson improved to 4-5 on the year by picking up the win for the Rockford Aviators. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Preston Vancil (6-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 11 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out four.

The Rockford Aviators were sparked by Corcino and Greg Van Horn, who teamed up for seven hits and six RBIs.
