The La Crosse Loggers (9-5) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Eau Claire Express (3-10), recording a 13-2 victory on Tuesday at Copeland Park.
The game was decided quickly as the La Crosse Loggers exerted their will early with 10 runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Brandon DeFazio, a two-run single by Matt Risdon, and a sacrifice fly by Johnny Bekakis during the second inning fueled the La Crosse Loggers' offense early.Dexter Price racked up three RBIs on two hits for the La Crosse Loggers. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.
The La Crosse Loggers relied on Grant Yost to eat up innings en route to the win. Yost pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out two.
Daniel Kihle had two extra-base hits for the Eau Claire Express. He doubled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.
Jake Peterson (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
