The Rochester Honkers fend off the St. Cloud Rox's late push, hold on 4-3

The St. Cloud Rox (6-7) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Rochester Honkers (6-7) on Monday, as the St. Cloud Rox fell 4-3 at Mayo Field after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The St. Cloud Rox scored on an RBI double by Adam Martin and an RBI double by Christian Helsel in the sixth inning and a wild pitch in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the St. Cloud Rox couldn't get over the hump.

Michael Pomeroy was hot from the plate for the Rochester Honkers. Pomeroy went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

The St. Cloud Rox couldn't get anything going as long as Jordan Milbrath was pitching. The St. Cloud Rox managed just one hit off of Milbrath, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Derrick Hadley got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Jason Hoppe (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
