Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Battle Creek Bombers (5-3) outscored the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (3-5) 9-8.

The two teams combined for 22 hits in the game.

The Battle Creek Bombers staved off the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters as the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters were unable to match the Battle Creek Bombers down the stretch.

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters scored on an RBI single by Taylor Stell in the third inning, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly by Erik Payne, and a three-run home run by Jackson Slaid in the fourth inning, a solo home run by Michael Jurgella in the eighth inning, and an RBI double by Payne in the ninth inning. Still, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters couldn't catch the Battle Creek Bombers.

Kade Scivicque had two extra-base hits for the Battle Creek Bombers. He doubled in the second innings.

Ryan Lavoie pitched lights out for the Battle Creek Bombers. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters managed just one hit off of Lavoie, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Nick Maiers (0-1) took the loss for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.
