The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (3-4) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Madison Mallards (4-3) roared back to steal a 4-2 victory at Witter Field.

The Madison Mallards took the lead in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike Fitzgerald.

Cam Verbeke brought the heat against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters during his outing. Verbeke gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Nick Kolarik (1-1) took the loss for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
