Matt Tellor had three extra base hits as the Wisconsin Woodchucks (8-5) took home an 8-3 victory over the Eau Claire Express (3-10) at Carson Park on Monday.
He doubled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.The Wisconsin Woodchucks relied on Dan Weigel to eat up innings en route to the win. Weigel pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out five.
David Diaz-Fernandez led the Eau Claire Express' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.
Taylor Lehnert ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
The Wisconsin Woodchucks were sparked by Jimmy Correnti and Tellor, who teamed up for eight hits and six RBIs.
