Michael Foster was cold coming off the bench, but Foster warmed up quickly as Foster stroked a key pinch-hit single in the six to lead the Thunder Bay Border Cats (4-3) to a 7-4 win over the Willmar Stingers (3-3) on Saturday at Subway Field.
With the Thunder Bay Border Cats trailing by one in the sixth inning, Foster came to the plate and singled.
Foster racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Thunder Bay Border Cats.
Jason Vosler helped the Thunder Bay Border Cats take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Ty Stetson to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Cory Kay.
Vosler had two extra-base hits for the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.
Cameron Wood improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Thunder Bay Border Cats. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered three hits.
Andrew Crook was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
