A walk-off single from Matt Fears brought home the winning run for the Battle Creek Bombers (8-5) in a 5-4 victory over the Eau Claire Express in 12 innings at C.O. Brown Stadium on Friday.

Fears did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Battle Creek Bombers, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the tenth and twelfth innings.

Tyler Sullivan got on base four times in the game for the Battle Creek Bombers. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the twelfth inning.

The Eau Claire Express (3-10) couldn't get anything going as long as Ben Dartnell was pitching. Dartnell held the Eau Claire Express hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Jake Cole was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.
