Gretz's big day not enough as the Alexandria Blue Anchors fall to the Duluth Huskies, 10-5

The Alexandria Blue Anchors (1-5) failed to take advantage of Aaron Gretz's effort at the plate on Friday, losing 10-5 to the Duluth Huskies (4-2) in 10 innings at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.

Gretz hit two home runs for the Alexandria Blue Anchors. Gretz went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. Gretz homered in the third and ninth innings.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

Brad Wilson had two extra-base hits for the Duluth Huskies. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the sixth inning, and singled in the tenth inning.

Nate Carter improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Duluth Huskies. He allowed one run over two innings. Carter struck out one, walked two and gave up one hit.

Taylor Simpson (0-1) took the loss for the Alexandria Blue Anchors. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

Nick Saathoff, Wilson and Trey Vavra helped lead the Duluth Huskies. They combined for eight hits and eight RBIs.
