The Rochester Honkers (1-0) pounded the Mankato MoonDogs (0-1) on Wednesday 11-4 at Franklin Rogers Park.
The Rochester Honkers scored four runs in the fifth on an error, an error, a groundout by Toby Thomas, and an RBI single by Jeff Campbell.
Mitch Anderson paced the Rochester Honkers at the plate. Anderson went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings.
Jonathan Rodriguez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Mankato MoonDogs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Jon Woodcock improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Rochester Honkers. He allowed one run over four innings. Woodcock struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.
Rob Cerfolio was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
