The bats were busy at T. R. Hughes Ballpark on Tuesday, and when the dust cleared the Schaumburg Boomers (10-7) had a 10-8 win over the River City Rascals (7-8).

The two teams combined for 23 hits in the game.

The Schaumburg Boomers got their bats going early, scoring four runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the River City Rascals.

The Schaumburg Boomers staved off the River City Rascals as the River City Rascals were unable to match the Schaumburg Boomers down the stretch.

The River City Rascals scored on and a sacrifice fly by Jake Atwell in the fifth inning and a solo home run by Will Block in the eighth inning. Still, the River City Rascals couldn't draw even.

Cody Griebling recorded his second win for the Schaumburg Boomers even though he allowed seven runs over 5 2/3 innings. Griebling struck out none, walked three and gave up eight hits.

Justin Sarratt couldn't get it done on the rubber for the River City Rascals, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.

Gerard Hall, Frank Pfister and Steve McQuail helped lead the Schaumburg Boomers. They combined for six hits and nine RBIs.
