The Matsu Miners (19-11) blew out the Chugiak Chinooks (5-24) 8-1 on Wednesday at Loretta French Field after pouring on five runs in the second inning.

A.J. Simcox racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Matsu Miners. He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth innings.

Trevor Bettencourt picked up the win for the Matsu Miners. Bettencourt allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings of work.

Collin Radack got on base four times in the game for the Chugiak Chinooks. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

James Scott (0-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
