Andre Mercurio drove in three runs as the Peninsula Oilers (11-9) took home a 6-4 victory over the Matsu Miners (13-11) in seven innings at Hermon Brothers Field on Tuesday.
He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.Colby Blueberg looked sharp on the mound. Blueberg held the Matsu Miners hitless over 3 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
The Peninsula Oilers couldn't get anything going as long as Mitch Warner was on the mound. The Peninsula Oilers managed just two hits off of Warner, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Gavin Glanz (3-1) took the loss for the Matsu Miners. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
