The Anchorage Bucs outdone by Holmes and the Peninsula Oilers, 7-3

Noah Holmes drove in three runs, helping the Peninsula Oilers (10-7) to a 7-3 victory over the Anchorage Bucs (12-8) on Saturday at Mulcahy Field.

He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.

The Anchorage Bucs' lineup had no answer for Michael Coates. The Anchorage Bucs managed just one hit off of Coates, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out nine during his four innings of work.

The Peninsula Oilers had no answer for Calvin Copping, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Copping held the Peninsula Oilers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

GJ Strauss improved to 4-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Peninsula Oilers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Austin Stone ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out six.
