The Matsu Miners (20-15) beat the Chugiak Chinooks (8-27) 9-6 on Saturday at Hermon Brothers Field behind Christin Stewart, who went 2-4 and hit a home run.

Dylan Stuart pitched lights out for the Matsu Miners. The Chugiak Chinooks managed just one hit off of Stuart, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Tyler Krahn had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.

Lance Phillips looked sharp on the mound. Phillips held the Matsu Miners hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Kenneth Knudsen couldn't get it done on the bump for the Chugiak Chinooks, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
