A walk-off single from Dillon Dobson brought home the winning run for the Peninsula Oilers (1-0) in a 6-5 victory over the Matsu Miners (3-2) in 13 innings at Coral Seymour Memorial Park on Wednesday.
Dobson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Peninsula Oilers. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the thirteenth inning.
The Matsu Miners couldn't get anything going as long as GJ Strauss was pitching. Strauss held the Matsu Miners hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven.
Dylan Stuart was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
