Sunday was a great day for Daryl Thompson, as Thompson tossed eight scoreless innings to carry the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (6-11) to an 8-1 victory over the Camden Riversharks at Campbells Field.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs blow out the Camden Riversharks (5-11). A solo home run by Brandon Jones, an RBI double by Jose Salas, a sacrifice fly by Wladimir Sutil, and a sacrifice fly by Sutil in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' Jose Julio-Ruiz was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the second, fourth, seventh, and ninth innings.
Brian Bass (1-3) took the loss for the Camden Riversharks. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out four.
