The Lancaster Barnstormers seize victory thanks to late three-run blast, drop the Long Island Ducks 6-5

The Lancaster Barnstormers (6-0) and the Long Island Ducks (0-6) exchanged the lead four times on Wednesday, but the Lancaster Barnstormers ended up on top with a 6-5 win over the Long Island Ducks.

The Lancaster Barnstormers would not relinquish the lead as the Long Island Ducks were unable to weather a two-run fifth inning deficit.

The Long Island Ducks scored one run in the seventh on an RBI single by Dan Lyons. Despite their efforts, the Long Island Ducks couldn't finish the comeback.

Daryle Ward put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Dwayne Pollok improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. Pollok struck out four, walked one and gave up four hits.

John Brownell was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out four.

Ward, Blake Gailen and Travis Denker helped lead the Lancaster Barnstormers. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
